Press Release: Jasons Travel Media

Latest Nielsen readership figures just released show that Jasons Motels, Apartments and Motor Lodges New Zealand Accommodation Directory has been viewed by more than 520,000 New Zealanders in the past 12 months, up 10% year-on-year.

“It really highlights that we’re meeting the needs of our market and that our end-to-end print distribution network has our Motel Directory in all the places it needs to be,” says General Manager - Operations, Mary Ansell.

The readership results, released today, indicate a fairly stagnant readership market for printed publications, with some of the larger main stream titles in the market seeing decreases, making the Jasons result all the more impressive.

Clive Jimmieson – General Manager - Distribution says, “In the past 12 months, Jasons has put in place several initiatives to ensure the broadest possible distribution including Cook Strait ferries, shopping centres and RSA clubs along with supplying the Australian Travel Agency market (New Zealand’s biggest source of international travellers)”.

In what is an almost counterintuitive situation, an increased number of copies are being ordered off the Jasons website. The increase in readership demonstrates the effectiveness of our efforts. In the tightening economy, our clients can be assured their advertising is being viewed by increasing numbers of their target market.
